Great news for India, crude oil reserves found in the Andaman Sea! Dependence on other countries will end.

Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that a large reserve of crude oil and gas has been found in the Andaman Sea. He estimates that this petroleum reserve seems to be as much as the crude oil reserve found recently in Guyana.

At present, work is going on to research this reserve and the methods of extracting it and if it is found, the economy will benefit greatly in the long run.

Crude oil reserves are very important for India.

You can guess how important this reserve of crude oil is for India from the fact that we currently import 85 to 86 percent of our crude oil needs from other countries. India currently buys crude oil from 42 countries, but the ongoing war between Iran and Israel can affect it.

How much crude oil reserves are likely to be found in Andaman

India imports about 46 percent of its total oil from West Asia and the ongoing tension between the two countries is likely to make oil expensive here. According to the Union Minister, this liquid gold found in the Andaman Sea seems to be as much as the reserves found recently in Guyana. Recently, 11.6 billion barrels of oil and gas have been found in Guyana, which was discovered in collaboration with a Chinese company. After this reserve, Guyana can reach the top in crude oil production. Currently, it is at the 17th position.

India's oil reserves are also about 12 billion barrels.

The special thing is that Guyana dug 46 wells and did not find any oil. When they dug the 47th well, they found oil and then it became the biggest discovery. It is believed that India's oil reserves are also about 12 billion barrels. The Union Minister said that if this oil reserve is as per our estimate and it can be extracted, then not only India's energy needs will be met in one go, but the economy will also get a boost.

The minister also said that India can find many oil and gas reserves in Andaman like Guyana. He told about the digging done in some wells and the oil and gas reserves found there. He said that a well named Suryamani was found to have a capacity of 40 lakh tonnes of oil. The Neelmani well has been found to have a capacity of 12 lakh tonnes of oil. In another well, reserves of both oil and gas were found at a depth of 2,865 meters. He said that oil was found in many wells and now it is being assessed.
