Less than 24 hours remain until the release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The film is set to hit theaters worldwide on March 19. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2026.

The popularity of this spy thriller has the potential to even surpass that of the sequels to Pushpa 2 and Baahubali.

Will it witness a sensational opening on Day 1?

In tandem with this excitement, the film’s advance bookings—spanning both regular shows and paid previews—have generated record-breaking collections. Driven by massive pre-release buzz, the advance booking figures have been remarkably impressive. According to Sacnilk, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has witnessed a massive surge in pre-sales; tickets are selling out rapidly in major cities, and there is particularly high demand for premium formats. The film has already generated substantial revenue solely through advance bookings, signaling a sensational opening at the box office.

Immense Fan Frenzy for Paid Previews

Advance bookings for the Ranveer Singh-starrer are skyrocketing. A full day before its official release, over 800,000 tickets have already been sold for paid previews, generating a revenue of ₹36 crore. This marks a new Indian record. Advance bookings—which commenced just two days ago—have already neared the ₹25 crore mark within India alone.

Internationally, Dhurandhar 2 has become the first Indian film to cross the $5 million mark in pre-sales within North America. This global success has propelled the film’s advance booking collections for the opening weekend to over ₹130 crore. And all of this has been achieved two days prior to its release.

Will Dhurandhar 2 Create History in Hindi Cinema?

The paid previews have provided a significant boost to Dhurandhar 2. Notably, the ₹40 crore figure generated by these previews—which now appears all but certain—is poised to further amplify the film’s overall Day 1 box office collections. Trade experts predict that Dhurandhar 2 will achieve an opening day collection surpassing even Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (which collected ₹57 crore) and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (which collected ₹63 crore). This implies that the film’s total first-day collection (including premiere earnings) will exceed ₹100 crore—a historic first for Hindi cinema.

What will the first-day collection be?

Furthermore, the film has generated significant buzz overseas, signaling its potential for global success. The movie is on track to set a record for the biggest premiere of any Indian film in North America, where paid previews and first-day screenings are already generating earnings of ₹2.5 million. Despite not being released in the Gulf countries or Pakistan, Dhurandhar 2 is expected to shatter records across most other regions. Trade experts believe that Dhurandhar 2 could achieve a gross collection of over ₹200 crore on its very first day.

If Dhurandhar achieves this feat, it will become only the fourth Indian film—and the first from Bollywood—to do so, following in the footsteps of Baahubali 2, RRR, and Pushpa 2.

It is worth noting that, in today’s landscape, many films succeed largely on the strength of word-of-mouth. The most critical factor behind the success of Dhurandhar Part 1 emerged after its opening weekend; while the opening was somewhat, word-of-mouth ultimately worked its magic. If Dhurandhar 2 similarly benefits from this phenomenon, the film could potentially earn over ₹300 crore in India and more than ₹500 crore worldwide over its extended four-day opening weekend.
