A Hanumanji sticker on the tail of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's (HAL) supersonic trainer HLFT-42 was in news on the opening day of the show at the Aero India Show in Bengaluru on Monday. The message was also written with the sticker – The Storm Is Coming.
The HLFT-42 fighter trainer is said to be the successor of the country's first indigenous aircraft Marut. On the removal of Hanuman's picture from its model, HAL Chairman CB Ananthakrishna said, "The sticker on the tail of the aircraft was not put with any intention. Nor has it been removed with any intention." On the other hand, HAL director Dr. DK Sunil had said that the decision to remove the sticker is internal.
HLFT-42 is a double-engine fighter training aircraft
HLFT-42 is designed to teach modern warfare techniques to new pilots. Its prototype was shown at the Aero India show. The plane will be equipped with avionic features like Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA), Electronic Warfare (EW) suite, Infrared Search and Track (IRST) along with Fly By Wire (FBW) control system. The company has not given any name to it yet.
HALT-42 will reduce the gap between the existing trainer and MiG-21
The HALT-42 aircraft will bridge the gap between the current trainer aircraft, the Hawk I-132, a subsonic trainer, and the MiG-21. The aircraft is a twin-engine Next-Gen supersonic trainer. The aircraft is equipped with Active Electronically Scanned Array, Electric Warfare Suite, Infrared Search, and Track and Fly by Wire Control System.
HAL got orders worth 84 thousand crores – CMD
CB Ananthakrishnan, chairman and managing director of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, said that HAL has an order book of Rs 84,000 crore. While orders worth Rs 50,000 crore are in the pipeline. During the air show, Argentina has shown interest in buying 15 and Egypt 20 Light Combat Aircraft 'Tejas'.

Running from February 13 to 17, the show focuses on showcasing indigenous technology and building partnerships with foreign companies as per the Make in India, Make for the World plan. Its theme is 'The Runway to a Billion Opportunities'.
During the inauguration of the show, PM Modi said, 'Earlier it was just an air show, but now it is emerging as the strength of India. For the first time after the Corona period, viewers are also participating in this show.
