The Meteorological Department has said that India is likely to receive normal rains during the southwest monsoon season this year. This rainfall will be 96 percent to 104 percent of the Long Period Average (LPA) of 87 cm for the period 1971-2020. Earlier, the Meteorological Department had predicted 88 cm of rain during the period 1961-2010. This time from June to September it will be 868.6 mm as against 880.6 mm earlier. That is, if the rain is to be believed, this time it will be at the right time.
