Rohit praised Yashasvi-Dubey

On the match-winning innings of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dubey, captain Rohit said - it was a very good few years for them. Jaiswal has now played Test cricket and even T20. He has shown what he is capable of. He has talent and has a great range of shots. Dubey is a player of huge stature. He is very powerful and can counter the spinners very well. That's his role and he came and played two important innings for us.

Talking about the match, Indian captain Rohit had won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Afghanistan scored 172 runs after losing all the wickets in 20 overs. Gulbadin Naib scored the highest score of 57 runs. In his 35-ball innings, he hit five fours and four sixes. At the same time, Najibullah Zadran was out after scoring 23 runs in 21 balls and Karim Janat was out after scoring 20 runs in 10 balls. At the same time, Mujeeb Ur Rehman played a brilliant inning of 21 runs in nine balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. Arshdeep Singh took three wickets for India. Whereas, Ravi Bishnoi and Akshar Patel got two wickets each. Shivam Dubey got one wicket.

 

Rohit out again without opening the account

In reply, India achieved the target by losing four wickets in 15.4 overs. Rohit was out without opening the account for the second consecutive T20. At the same time, Virat Kohli, who was returning to T20 after 14 months, played an innings of 29 runs in 16 balls with the help of five fours. Yashasvi Jaiswal along with Shivam Dubey made a partnership of 92 runs for the third wicket. Yashasvi played a stormy inning of 68 runs in 34 balls with the help of five fours and six sixes. Jitesh could not open the account. At the same time, Dubey remained unbeaten after scoring 63 runs in 32 balls with the help of five fours and four sixes. Rinku remained unbeaten after scoring nine runs. Karim Janat took two wickets for Afghanistan. Whereas, Fazalhaq Farooqui and Naveen Ul Haq got one wicket each.

 

India's record-breaking victory

India has won its sixth consecutive T20 series on home soil. With this, India's record of remaining unbeaten in the 15th consecutive series at home remains intact. India last lost the series at home in February 2019. Of the 15 series played after this, two have ended in a tie and 13 have been in India's name. Both drawn series were played against South Africa. This is the second-highest target successfully achieved against Afghanistan in T20. Sri Lanka is at number one. He had achieved the target of 176 runs against Afghanistan in Sharjah in 2022. India is in second place with 173 runs and Ireland is in third place with 169 runs.
