India has always condemned human rights violations

He said India has always condemned all acts of violence in Syria as well as violations of international humanitarian and human rights law. India has also strongly condemned all the ongoing terrorist incidents in Syria. India has consistently underlined how external forces have made Syria incapable of dealing with terrorism.

Earlier, an Adviser in the United Nations Mission of India, A. Amarnath said on Tuesday that access to weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) by terrorists and non-government elements could pose a serious threat to international peace and security.

Weapons abuse needs attention

At the open consultation session of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) 1540 Committee on the Proliferation of Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Weapons, Amarnath said the international community should pay serious attention to the rapidly growing threat of misuse of these weapons.
