President Draupadi Murmu organized a dinner program on the occasion of the G 20 Summit. In this dinner ceremony, dinner invitations were sent to all the Chief Ministers and Union Ministers of the country along with foreign guests. Many opposition leaders including Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attended this dinner.
Many opposition leaders attended the dinner ceremony
Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge was not invited to the dinner ceremony, due to which many chief ministers of Congress-ruled states decided not to attend the event. Meanwhile, Congress has now raised questions about Mamata Banerjee attending the dinner ceremony.
On Sunday, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury raised questions on Mamata Banerjee attending the dinner function. West Bengal Congress President said that Mamata Banerjee's participation in the dinner function will weaken Mamata Banerjee's stand against the Modi government.
Congress raised questions on the political intentions of CM Mamata Banerjee
Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary further said that if Mamata Banerjee had not attended this dinner party, the sky would not have fallen. Mahabharata would not have become impure. The Quran does not become impure. At the same time, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary further raised the question of whether Mamata Banerjee had any other intention behind attending this dinner ceremony.
The Congress leader further drew everyone's attention to the fact that the Bengal Chief Minister was sitting at the dinner table with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Adhir Chaudhary also said that many non-BJP chief ministers avoided attending the dinner event but Mamata Banerjee reached Delhi in a hurry.
TMC retaliated
TMC Rajya Sabha MP Shantanu Sen responded to Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury's comments. He hit back at the Congress leader, saying Choudhary should not have given him comments regarding certain protocols to be followed from the administrative point of view. "Choudhary will not decide when the state chief minister will go to attend the G20 dinner as per protocol," Sen said.
