The government says that due to the increased fuel prices in the international market, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased in the country. The prices of essential things are skyrocketing in our neighboring country Bangladesh. Now in the case of diesel petrol, the situation has become more serious.

Due to the increase in the price of fuel, there was resentment among the people against the government. People said- The government has increased the price of petrol by 51.7 percent and that of diesel by 42 percent. So we are facing difficulties.
What did the government say?
The government says that in the last 6 months, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (state oil company) has suffered a loss of 8 billion taka (Bangladeshi currency). Here, due to the Russia-Ukraine war, fuel prices have increased in the international market. So there was no option but to breathe. As soon as the prices in the international market come down, the fuel prices in the country will also be reduced.
Inflation is worsening situation in Bangladesh
The inflation rate in the country has remained above 6 percent continuously for the last 9 months. Inflation in Bangladesh reached 7.48 percent in July.
