Jaishankar on Global Issues: Jaishankar gave important indications from the global forum, saying- a solution of the world's big challenges is not possible without India's cooperation

After the Ukraine-Russia war, the question is being raised time and again by the Western countries whether India will be on America's side or China-Russia's side in the new global situation. On Friday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar himself gave a clear answer to this question, and that too from the global forum. Jaishankar clarified that India will not be involved in any pivot as India itself is a powerful country and a big economic power. At the same time, he also said that the major challenges facing the world cannot be solved without India's cooperation.

The External Affairs Minister also took a dig at the attitude of European countries of looking at the whole world only from their point of view and said that India will move ahead according to its interests. Jaishankar is currently on a visit to the Czech Republic and Slovakia. During his visit to Slovakia, the External Affairs Minister was answering questions on the changing global situation while participating in the highly prestigious Bratislava Forum. He was asked that when there are signs of becoming two axes in the world in which one will be of America and Western countries and the other will be of China and Russia, then on which side will India be. Jaishankar's reply was, I disagree that India needs to engage in some pivot. I also reject that if I am not with one group then I am against another group.

Jaishankar also rejected the statement that India is neutral. He said that India is on its land. Today there are many challenges like climate change, and terrorism in the world, and their solution will either come out of India or India will make a significant contribution in dealing with it. During this, Jaishankar also rejected attempts to link the situation in Ukraine-Russia with India and China. Regarding the ongoing tension with China, Jaishankar said that India is capable of protecting its interests in this difficult relationship. If I try to learn from the global situation, it will help, but if I help in one conflict, I will help in another conflict, the world does not work like this.

Jaishankar said that China will not decide how it should or should not deal with India by taking lessons from events elsewhere. Tensions between India and China have been going on since before the Ukraine-Russia dispute. This statement of Jaishankar is important because many countries are presenting the situation of Ukraine-Russia by linking it with India-China tension. They are telling that if India does not oppose Russia now, then other countries will not help India in the future if the dispute with China increases.

Europe should give up the mindset of considering its problem as the problem of the world.

Jaishankar also taught European countries that they have to come out of this mindset that their problem is the problem of the world, but the problem of the world is not their problem. Europe remains silent on many of the problems in Asia. Today, a lot is happening in Asia which European countries are not saying anything. So why would the people of Asia have any kind of trust in Europe? Anyway, a lot is changing in the world. The world cannot always remain Europe-centered.

European countries can buy oil from Russia, why can't others?

The External Affairs Minister also lashed out at European countries who questioned India's decision to buy oil from Russia and questioned why European countries can buy oil and gas from Russia, but other countries cannot. How can it be said that the money which is going to Russia from India is being used for war and not the money of European countries?
