LSG vs RCB: Kohli can achieve a big achievement in the match against Lucknow, a chance to leave David Warner behind

Posted on 27th May 2025 02:31 pm by rohit kumar

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) veteran batsman Virat Kohli can achieve a big feat during the match against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday. Kohli's bat has spoken loudly this season and he has scored 548 runs in 12 innings so far. Kohli has a big hand in the success of RCB and a big innings is expected from his bat once again before the playoffs.

Last chance to make it to the top two

RCB faces Lucknow in the last group match of IPL 2025. RCB's team is currently in the third position in the points table with 17 points. If RCB wins this match, it will have 19 points from 14 matches and will go ahead of Gujarat Titans. Gujarat has 18 points from nine wins in 14 matches and remains in second place. RCB's defeat will keep Gujarat in second place, while if RCB wins, it will be able to make it to the top two for the first time since 2016.

RCB's performance has been very good this season and the team is looking for its first title. If RCB's team registers a big win against Lucknow, then it can overtake Punjab and stay on top based on net run rate. However, it just needs a win to reach the top two. Lucknow has nothing to lose in this match, but it can become a hurdle in RCB's path.

Kohli is close to completing 9000 runs for RCB.

Kohli can complete 9000 runs for RCB during this match. Kohli is 24 runs away from achieving this feat. Kohli has been a part of RCB since the beginning and has scored 8976 runs for RCB in 270 innings including IPL and Champions League T20. Out of this, Kohli has scored 8552 runs in 256 innings in the IPL and 424 runs in 14 matches of the Champions League.

One step away from making the record of scoring most half-centuries in IPL

Kohli is also one step away from becoming the batsman with the most half-centuries in IPL. If Kohli hits a fifty against Lucknow, he will leave David Warner behind in this matter. Kohli and Warner are currently jointly at the top. Both of these batsmen have a record of scoring 62 half-centuries in IPL. Currently, Rohit Sharma is at third place below Kohli who has scored 46 half-centuries in IPL. Kohli has scored seven half-centuries so far this season and this is Kohli's third successful season in terms of playing the most half-centuries in a season. He scored 11 fifties in 2016 and eight in 2023.
