There are many cases of theft and dacoity in the bank, but the theft happened in a private bank in the Thane district, as you must have seen in Hollywood or Bollywood movies. The thieves hatched a vicious plan with the bank employee, but they left behind some evidence. After this, the police arrested the three accused.
Police Inspector Anil Suresh Honrao said that an FIR was lodged at Manpada police station on July 13, in which a bank employee had stolen Rs 34 crore from the bank vault. Three accused have been arrested in this case. 5.8 crore rupees and a vehicle have been recovered from them. Police said that Israr Abrar Hussain Qureshi (33), Shamshad Ahmed Riaz Ahmed Khan (33), and Anuj Premshankar Giri (30) were arrested from Mumbra area.

According to the information, the theft in the bank came to known on July 11. Bank officials found Rs 34.20 crore missing from the cash chest. After this, the bank officials started an investigation at their level, but later a case was registered with the police. Police investigation revealed that the CCTV footage of the bank has been tampered with. Meanwhile, while checking the room containing the cash vault, the bank officials noticed that the air condition (AC) duct was damaged. On further investigation, they found seven bags in the duct, which contained stolen cash worth Rs 22 crore.

According to bank officials, Altaf Shaikh was posted as cash wall in charge. He left the bank on the pretext of drinking tea on July 9 but did not return. Bank employees believe that the incident took place on the same day. The thieves could get away with only 12.20 crores. According to the police, prima facie it has emerged that the thieves used a small truck to carry cash.
