Gurgaon, March 23 (IANS) The BJP and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) are two faces of the same coin, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said Sunday as he campaigned for his party colleague Yogendra Yadav here.
Kejriwal echoed the theme in election rally after rally as he toured the Gurgaon Lok Sabha constituency adjoining Delhi, urging people to support the Aam Aadmi Party.
The sprawling constituency covers nine assembly segments. Kejriwal addressed several public meetings and conducted road shows for the second day Sunday.
Kejriwal addressed gatherings at Anaj Mandi, Nagina and Nuh, telling people there was no difference between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the INLD.
"If you are voting for INLD, you are voting for the BJP," he said.
Two-time legislator Zakir Hussain is the INLD candidate in Gurgaon. He is the only Meo (Muslim) candidate in the constituency. In 2009, he came second on a Bahujan Samaj Party ticket.
Kejriwal and his team reached the Meo-dominated village of Gandhi Gram Ghasera, some 35 km from Gurgaon, around 11 at night Saturday.
The village is named after Mahatma Gandhi who visited it during the time of India's partition in 1947.
Kejriwal, Yogendra Yadav and others spent the night at the 'chaupal' or community centre along with some locals.
Addressing the electorate at Rewari, Kejriwal - who hails from Haryana - said the Congress and the BJP represented the interests of leading corporate houses.
"When these corporate houses felt that the Congress has lost the confidence of the people in the country, they started promoting Narendra Modi in their self interest," he said, referring to the BJP's prime ministerial candidate.
The BJP's Gurgaon candidate is outgoing MP Rao Inderjeet Singh, who recently quit the Congress, and Rao Dharampal of the Congress and a three-time legislator.
