Monkeypox Virus in UAE: Three more cases of monkeypox found in UAE, the first case was found a week ago

Monkeypox cases in the United Arab Emirates have started to be found in the United Arab Emirates as well. The Health Ministry said that three more cases of monkeypox were found on Monday after the Gulf country announced the first case of the virus about a week ago. The Ministry of Health has not given any information about the infected person yet. The first case in the country was of a 29-year-old woman who had returned after visiting West Africa.

According to Intelligence Senior Pharmaceutical Analyst Sam Fazeli, monkeypox is orthodox virus-like chickenpox and smallpox. But, it is less problematic than smallpox in terms of mortality. Monkeypox, as its name suggests, is not a virus spread by monkeys.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), monkeypox is usually a self-limited disease and usually lasts 2 to 4 weeks. It can be serious in children, and pregnant women. The duration of symptom onset is usually 6 to 13 days but can be as long as 5 to 21 days. Typical symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain and fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes, followed by skin rashes or sores.

 

Countries have to take the right steps to stop monkeypox - WHO

 

Officials of the World Health Organization said that the right steps should be taken to prevent the spread of monkeypox cases, as well as share the vaccine data available with them. WHO Director Sylvie Bryand said, 'We are not aware of the risk of disease, so we should be cautious. We think that if we take the right measures to stop this disease now, then maybe we can easily stop it from spreading.
