Police have arrested Congress leader Raja Pateria who made objectionable remarks against PM Modi. Former Madhya Pradesh minister Raja Patria had made controversial remarks on PM in a meeting. A case was registered against him after the video of the statement went viral. The police arrested him at 7 am on Tuesday from his residence in Panna. The BJP has strongly opposed Patria's statement.
BJP attacked Congress
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the true spirit of Congress has been revealed, but such things will not be tolerated. The law will take its course. Modi Ji resides in the hearts of the people. There are centers of reverence and faith in the entire country. Congress people are not able to compete with them in the field, and that's why a Congress leader is talking about killing Modi Ji. This is the culmination of hatred, the extreme of hatred.
Apologize to the Congress leadership – BJP
At the same time, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar demanded an apology from the Congress leadership for this statement. Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey said that the Congress has a history of abusing Modi. Former Speaker Sonia Gandhi called him a merchant of death, while current Speaker Mallikarjun Kharge compared him to Ravana. The remark exposes the politics of murders, which flourished under Congress's rule.
'Be prepared to kill Modi'
Significantly, Raja Patria was seen telling the workers that if the constitution is to be saved, be prepared to kill Modi. This video was posted on Twitter by BJP leader Rajpal Singh Sisodia on Monday. Following the uproar over the statement, a case was registered against Patria at Powai police station in Panna and Omati police station in Jabalpur. A case was registered against Patria at Powai police station under several other sections including abetment, incitement, and threats to disturb public peace. Please inform that Pateria had said this at a meeting of Congress workers at PWD Rest House in Powai.
Congress sided with the statement
The Congress has distanced itself from Patria's statement. Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Suresh Pachauri have said that it is condemnable if Pateria has given such a statement. Congress never supports violence. Pawan Kheda, head of AICC's media and publicity department, said that it is condemnable. Such words should not be used against the Prime Minister or anyone. The Congress party condemns such statements.
Patria gave clarification
Pateria released the video and clarified that his words have been misinterpreted. He said that we intended to defeat Modi. Earlier, the Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Narottam Mishra had given instructions to the Panna Superintendent of Police to file an FIR, terming Pateria's statement as condemnable.
