New cold war sound in the world: Russia sent 1.5 lakh soldiers to Ukraine border, then NATO countries came together for retaliation

After the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1992, the military alliance of the US and its European allies, NATO, suddenly lost its importance. Experts of Geopolitics claimed that if NATO does not play a big role outside Europe in the coming times, then its importance will be lost.

In the midst of all this, when Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, the need for NATO for power balance was felt. Now that Russia has deployed more than 1.5 lakh soldiers on the Ukrainian border, NATO has come to a central role. With this, the sound of a new cold war is being felt.

Putin's aggressive policies changed the situation

US senior intelligence officer Andrea Kendall-Taylor says the situation had changed after the Taliban occupation in Afghanistan and France's humiliation in the Australian submarine deal. At one time it was felt that NATO had many flaws and relations between its member states were under consideration, but aggressive policies and threats by Russian President Vladimir Putin brought NATO back to pre-1992 status. Have given. This week 30 member countries of NATO have come together and put a new life in this organization.

Blocking Russia is in NATO's DNA

Anna Wijlander, the head of Sweden's Security and Development Organization, says that stopping Russia is in NATO's DNA because Russia can threaten the existence of European countries. At the same time, Sofia Besch, a security analyst at the Center for European Reform, said - NATO is created by its allies. The importance of NATO has never diminished because we have not allowed it to happen.

Once upon a time, it was jokingly asked that if NATO is the answer, then what is the question? Sofia Besch, pointing to Russia, said that the question had changed years ago, now we are back to the old question again.

A divided America and a weak President

Experts say that Putin saw the tussle between European countries, a divided America, and a weak president as an opportunity. They want to take advantage of it. Even though the countries of NATO are still together, their unity has not been tested so far.

It is too early to say anything from now on whether all these countries will stay together in difficult times. However, NATO is very important for the Baltic countries and Poland for countries that share borders with Russia.

Russia's warning to America

Russian President Putin has been repeatedly warning the US to stop NATO. It has also been alleged on the side of Russia that America spreads false news to defame it. America's real aim is to expand NATO, but it should withdraw NATO forces from countries that share borders with Russia

NATO remained weak even after Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. There was a lack of purpose and unity among its member countries. Former US President Donald Trump made fun of it and threatened to leave it. At the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron also condoled its "brain death".

What is NATO after all?

The full name of NATO is North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). This is a military group of European and North American countries. The main objective of its establishment in 1949 was to prevent the siege of the Soviet Union and the influence of communist ideology. This included France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Britain, the Netherlands, Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, the United States, former Greece, Turkey, West Germany, and Spain. The southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO) was established in 1954. This included Australia, France, Britain, New Zealand, the Philippines, Thailand, Pakistan, and the US.

Russia did the Warsaw Pact in the face of NATO

In 1955, Russia gathered communist countries against the military group of America and made the Warsaw Pact. It included the Soviet Union, Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. After the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1992, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan, and Russia together formed the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

The country that neither with Russia nor with America

Outside the military alliance of the US and Russia, India, Yugoslavia, Indonesia, Egypt, and Ghana together started the Non-Aligned Movement on 1 September 1961. The member countries of this movement neither stayed with America nor joined the Russian camp.
