These include their two daughters (8 and 15 years) including husband and wife. All have been quarantined as Omicron suspects. Their samples have been sent for genome sequencing.

 

It is a matter of concern that this family, who returned from South Africa on November 25, had met 12 of their relatives in Jaipur. The report of 5 of them has come positive. Among them is a 16-year-old child. Rajasthan University of Health Science (RUHS) superintendent Ajit Singh Shekhawat said that all have been quarantined considering Omicron suspects. Their samples have also been sent for genome sequencing. However, except for children, all people have received both doses of the vaccine. He does not have symptoms of corona and is in good health.

 

10 people including 9 foreigners who reached Mumbai by international flights corona infected

Here, the test report of 10 people, including 9 foreign nationals who came to Mumbai by international flights, has come corona positive. All these people had reached Mumbai airport between November 10 and December 2. The Municipal Corporation of Mumbai said that the samples of all have been sent for genome sequencing.

 

Omicron infected foreigner gave corona to 6 including doctors in Bangalore

Earlier on Thursday, the country's first two Omicron patients were confirmed in Karnataka. Among them is a 66-year-old foreign national, who had gone to South Africa recently, while the other is a 46-year-old health worker from Bomanahalli, Bangalore. Omicron has been found in both samples. The report of 6 other people, including a doctor who came in contact with them, has been found positive, whose samples have also been sent for genome sequencing.

The foreign national in whose sample the Omicron variant has been confirmed in Bengaluru has left the country on November 27 only for Dubai. The travel report of this city has been issued by the Bangalore Municipal Corporation. It has been told in the report that the foreign national who had taken both doses of the vaccine had reached Bengaluru on 20 November with a negative report. Due to his coming from 'at-risk countries', the RT-PCR test was done at the airport itself.

 

Sample of elderly returned from Zimbabwe sent for genome sequencing in Jamnagar

On the other hand, in Jamnagar, Gujarat, a 72-year-old man has been kept in the category of Omicron suspect. This elderly person has returned from Zimbabwe, an African country included in the 'At Risk List' and his Covid test report has come out positive. Zimbabwe is included in the 'at-risk list' prepared by the central government regarding the Omicron variant.

 

Jamnagar Municipal Commissioner Vijaykumar Kharadi said that the elderly have been quarantined and their samples have been sent to Ahmedabad for genome sequencing for Omicron-linked tests. It will take about a week for the genome sequencing report to come out.
