Operation Sindoor Briefing: Sindoor strikes 100 km inside Pakistan, nine terrorist hideouts destroyed in 25 minutes

The government and the army held a press conference after the Indian Armed Forces' strike 'Operation Sindoor' in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. During this, Colonel Sofia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh were present to address the press conference. During this, it was said that 'Operation Sindoor' was carried out between 1:05 am and 1:30 am. During this, terrorist hideouts were targeted. The army carried out missile attacks 100 kilometers inside Pakistan and demolished nine terrorist hideouts. Five terrorist hideouts in PoK and four in Pakistan came under the ambit of India's strike.

Earlier in the press conference, scenes of Parliament attack, Mumbai attack, Pulwama attack, and Pahalgam attack were shown. First of all, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri addressed the press conference. After this, Colonel Sofia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh shared the complete details of 'Operation Sindoor'. He said that Operation Sindoor was done to give justice to the civilians and their families who were victims of the gruesome terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. Nine hideouts were identified and destroyed. Terrorists were trained in these hideouts. These were the launch pads of terrorists. These targets were selected for Operation Sindoor based on reliable intelligence. It was kept in mind that residential areas and civilians should not be harmed.

'India exercised its right to prevent terrorist attacks'

Earlier, Vikram Misri said, 'On April 22, 2025, Pakistan-trained terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba brutally attacked tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. 25 Indians and a foreign national were killed in a cowardly manner. This was the most serious incident of civilians being killed in terrorist attacks after the Mumbai attack. In this attack, people present there were shot at close range and in the head in front of their families. Family members were deliberately traumatized. It was also advised to convey the message of the attack. This happened to disrupt the normal situation being restored in Jammu and Kashmir. The purpose of this attack was to adversely harm tourism. Last year, 75 million tourists came here. The terrorists aimed to keep this area backward. This method of attack was also aimed at inciting communal riots in Jammu and Kashmir and other states. We foiled the attempts. A group calling itself Resistance Front has taken responsibility for the attack. This banned group is linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba. India had given inputs about this organization in the report before the United Nations. This revealed the role of TRF as a front for Pakistan's terrorist groups.'

'Pahalgam attack linked to Pakistan's long track record of carrying out terrorism'

He further said, 'Pahalgam attack is linked to Pakistan's long track record of carrying out cross-border terrorism in India. Pakistan has earned a reputation as a haven for terrorists all over the world. Terrorists there escape punishment. Sajid Mir was declared dead by Pakistan, but he was found alive under international pressure, this is a clear example. After the Pahalgam attack, there was outrage in all the states of India. It was felt necessary that the accused and planners of the attack be brought to justice. Pakistan did not take any clear steps to take action. There is a danger of further attacks against India, so it was felt necessary to deal with it.'

'India exercised its right to prevent and resist cross-border attacks'

The Foreign Secretary said that this morning India exercised its right to prevent and resist cross-border attacks. This action was measured and unprovoked. It is focused on incapacitating the terrorists being sent to India. The United Nations Security Council issued a press statement and emphasized bringing the sponsors of terror to justice. India's action should be seen in this context.
