Resentment among people over repeated attempts to take full control of Islamabad

 

According to the report of Islam Khabar, a bandh was called at Geelani Chowk in Muzaffarabad after the resolution in Parliament. All roads in the area were closed. According to the report of Asian Light International, protests are going on in areas like Rawalkot, Bagh, Poonch, Muzaffarabad, and Neelam Ghati. The citizens of PoK are angered by repeated attempts by the Islamabad government to divide the area of ​​its exclusive power and take full control of the administration. The government of Pakistan plans to introduce the 15th Constitutional Amendment, which will transfer the financial and administrative powers of the local government to Islamabad.

 

The people of Ghulam Kashmir have long been suspicious of Islamabad's intentions to exploit the region's vast reserves of natural resources. There have been repeated allegations that the state of Pakistan exploits the rich forest, mining, and water resources in PoK while the Kashmiri people could not get any benefit. As Islam Khabar reports, even the local people are not consulted before Pakistan explores and exploits the natural resources of the region.
