Narendra Modi is the first Prime Minister who be born after the country. He is also the first non-Congress Prime Minister to hold the longest term. He also holds the record of being the first and only non-Congress Prime Minister to be elected twice in a row.
First non-Congress PM to get an absolute majority
PM Modi is also the first and only non-Congress leader to form a government by securing an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha elections. He is the first Prime Minister to be re-elected with an absolute majority after Indira Gandhi (1971). Apart from Pandit Nehru, he is the only Prime Minister to have won three consecutive general elections as the leader of a party.
