Good Friday 2023 Date in India: Today i.e. 07 April is Good Friday. Good Friday is a special festival of Christianity. People of Christian community celebrate this day as Black Day. Good Friday is also called Holy Friday, Black Friday or Great Friday. It is believed that on this day Lord Jesus Christ was crucified after many tortures. For this reason, people of Christian religion remember the day of Good Friday as the sacrifice day of Lord Jesus. This day is very special for the followers of Christianity. On this day people go to the churches and pray. At the same time, in the memory of Lord Jesus, people observe fast and make and eat sweet bread. When is Good Friday 2023?

Good Friday falls every year on the Friday before Easter Sunday. This year Easter Sunday is on 09 April. In such a situation, Good Friday will be celebrated on 07 April.

 

Why is Good Friday celebrated?

Lord Jesus Christ was the Messiah of love and peace. Lord Jesus, who gave the message of love and compassion to the world, was hanged on the cross by the religious fundamentalists of that time complaining to the ruler of Rome. This is the reason why people who believe in Christianity celebrate Good Friday as Black Day. But it is said that Lord Jesus was resurrected three days after this incident i.e. on Easter Sunday.

 

How is Good Friday celebrated?

People of Christian religion remember the sacrifice of Lord Jesus on Good Friday. On this day people mourn the sacrifice of Lord Jesus by wearing black clothes. Also go to churches and offer special prayers. On this day bells are not rung in churches, but wooden knocks are played. Also people remember the Lord Jesus by kissing the cross in the church. On this day people remember the teachings of Lord Jesus and try to mold them in their lives. People take an oath to follow the path of love, truth and faith told by Lord Jesus.
