Bollywood actor Siddharth Malhotra is garnering a lot of praise these days for the film 'Sher Shah'. The film Sher Shah, based on the life of martyr Captain Vikram Batra, is being liked by the audience. In such a situation, after the release of the film, Siddharth had a special conversation with Hindustan and gave answers to many questions.
When did you decide to become an actor?
Many times in my childhood, I used to bleed from my nose in summer, so I used to pretend in front of the mirror that I have come to do some action, just in 'Bachchan' style. However, it was not known then that this is a career possibility. At the same time, after my college days, I decided that I wanted to become an actor when I did modeling and gradually moved towards it.
How did you get Student of the Year?
When I became an assistant director for 'My Name is Khan' at the age of 23-24, I think the cycle started from there. Spent so much time on the film sets and everyone knew that I wanted to be an actor, so the learning process started there. When the film was over, it was discovered that Dharma was making a college picture, but it was not known who would direct it. We auditioned for three days, followed by me, Varun and Alia finalized. Then after three months, it was found that Karan Johar is directing the film.
When was Shershah offered to you and what was your first reaction?
When I was doing 'A Gentleman', I was offered, Sher Shah. After this I met Vikram Ji's brother Vishal, talked. It was not easy to show Vikram Ji's life in two hours, so I wanted it to happen perfectly, but the team that was there was not able to talk with him at that time. After that, I spoke with Vishal Batra Ji and I said that I want to do this film with Dharma Productions.. so he said yes. After that, the real journey began. I am happy that all the hard work has become justified when the audience is getting love.
How did you work hard for the character of Sher Shah?
I think everything you see on screen is inspired by martyr Captain Vikram Batra. Talked to his brothers, family members, friends, soldiers and the feedback from all of them is my performance. Vikram was very cute and charming... was filmy, had style. Even after joining the army, he did not give up his charm. That's all I tried to keep that charm even after toughness.
As an actor, which scene in Sher Shah did you find most challenging?
I would of course say that showing Vikram ji's last moment was the most challenging because no one can make you feel how that last moment feels but making the audience feel it while feeling it was the most challenging. His martyrdom needed to be shown in a very correct way. I have spoken war cry in the last scene as well, that is, Vikram was such that even at the last moment he was motivating everyone.
What are your upcoming projects?
There are two pictures that I am shooting now. The first is 'Mission Majnu', a spy thriller set in the 1970s. Its shoot is on and Rashmika Mandanna will be seen with me in the film. The second film is Thank God, which is being directed by Indra Kumar. Me and Ajay Devgan will be seen together for the first time in this film. The audience will get a very sweet message at the end of this film.
