SRH vs GT: Hyderabad suffers fourth defeat, Gujarat registers third consecutive win due to all-round performance

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost the match against Gujarat on Sunday. The guests defeated them by seven wickets and registered their third consecutive win of the season. In this match played on Sunday, Hyderabad, who came to bat first after losing the toss, scored 152 runs in 20 overs by losing eight wickets. In reply, Gujarat achieved the target by losing three wickets in 16.4 overs. This is Hyderabad's fourth defeat of this season. Earlier, they were defeated by KKR (80 runs), Delhi Capitals (seven wickets), and Lucknow Super Giants (five wickets).

With the third consecutive win, the team led by Shubman Gill reached the second position in the points table. They have six points in their account and the net run rate has also improved. At the same time, the team led by Pat Cummins is in 10th place. Their net run rate is -1.629. Delhi Capitals is at the top with six points and 1.257 net run rate.

Chasing the target, Gujarat started with a jolt. Mohammed Shami made Sai Sudarshan his victim in the third over. He could score only five runs in nine balls. After this, Pat Cummins got Jos Buttler caught by Klaasen. He could not even open the account.

 

Gujarat, which had lost two wickets at the score of 16, needed a big one. This need was fulfilled by captain Gill and Washington Sundar, who came to bat at number four. The biggest partnership of 90 runs was made between the two. In his debut match, Sundar played a strong innings of 49 runs in 29 balls. However, he could not complete the half-century. At the same time, Shubman Gill and Sherfane Rutherford remained unbeaten after scoring 61 and 35 runs respectively. For Hyderabad, Mohammed Shami took two wickets and Pat Cummins took one wicket.

Sunrisers Hyderabad set a target of 153 runs against Gujarat Titans thanks to Pat Cummins' stormy innings in the death overs. Hyderabad had a bad start in this match. Mohammad Siraj sent the opening pair of Travis Head (8) and Abhishek Sharma (18) to the pavilion. After this, Prasidh Krishna dismissed Ishan Kishan. He could score only 17 runs. For Hyderabad, Nitish Reddy scored 31, Heinrich Klaasen scored 27, Aniket Verma scored 18 and Kamindu Mendis scored one run. Pat Cummins and Mohammad Shami remained unbeaten by scoring 22 and six runs respectively. For Gujarat, Mohammad Siraj took four wickets while Prasidh Krishna and Sai Kishore took two wickets each.
