In Bihar, voting was held on Monday for the 24 seats of the local authority's Legislative Council (MLC Local Bodies Election). Two of these include supporters of Rais Khan. Rais Khan narrowly escaped the attack. In protest against the incident, villagers have blocked Maharana Chowk of Siwan's Siwan on Tuesday morning.

A case of firing on the convoy of independent MLC candidate Rais Khan has come to light in Siwan district last night. According to the news, four people were seriously injured in the firing of unknown miscreants in Mahual village of Hussainganj police station area late on Monday night. Whereas, one died. The deceased has been identified as Vinod Kumar Yadav, a resident of Siswan village. Tyeb Ali alias Bablu Khan and Phoolan are reported to have been injured in the incident. Bablu's condition remains critical in this. Other injured are also said to be admitted to private hospitals. However, it has not been officially confirmed yet.
Public anger erupted in protest against the incident, road jam
As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police of several police stations including SP, SDPO, City Police Inspector, Sarai OP in-charge reached Sadar Hospital for investigation and got involved in the interrogation. On getting information about the incident, Superintendent of Police Shailesh Kumar Sinha reached Sufia Nursing Home and tried to get information about incident by meeting the injured. The SP said that further action would be taken after investigating the matter. Meanwhile, villagers have blocked Maharana Chowk in Siswan on Tuesday morning in protest against the incident.
Firing from AK-47, candidates narrowly survived
