There is relief news for Sri Lanka, which is facing the biggest economic crisis in history. The World Bank has expressed its intention to give an amount of $ 700 million (Rs 5 thousand 427 crores) to Sri Lanka. Significantly, the country has also requested the IMF to provide a relief package and it has given positive signs.

The report quoted Sri Lankan news portal Colombo Gazette as saying that the World Bank's Sri Lanka chief Chiyo Kanda made this assurance during a meeting with Foreign Minister G L Peiris last week. He had said that the World Bank would re-plan and release the amount of the already approved projects. According to the report, the World Bank's Sri Lanka chief Chiyo Kanda made this assurance during his meeting with Foreign Minister G L Peiris last week. He said that the World Bank would re-plan and release the funds for the already approved projects. According to the report, Kanda has assured Paris that the World Bank will work closely with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and the United Nations Office in this regard.

It is noteworthy that due to the almost exhausted foreign exchange reserves, Sri Lanka is unable to import essential goods, due to which people in the country are also fascinated with food and drink. Not only this, there is a huge shortage of petrol and diesel in the country, so the power cut is at its peak. Economic change Inflation rate in the country has reached 30 percent and it is expected to reach 40 percent. Earlier this month, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said it was committed to assisting Sri Lanka in line with its policies, according to a report. Technical level discussions have also started with Sri Lanka regarding this. Let us tell you that a huge amount of $ 51 billion (Rs 3.88 lakh crore) was imposed on Sri Lanka and a few days ago the country had raised its hands in repaying the debt.
