Sri Lanka: President Wickremesinghe praised PM, Modi, saying - the use of Indian rupees should be like the US dollar

Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that he wants the Indian rupee to be used at par with the US dollar. Wickremesinghe is also the President of Sri Lanka facing an economic crisis. His statement has come at a time when he is about to arrive on his first official visit to India after a few days. President Singhe made this statement while addressing the Indian CEO Forum.

 

President Singhe will come to India next week

It may be known that President Singhe is going to be on an official visit to India next week. This will be his first visit to New Delhi after becoming the President. T S Prakash, President of the CEO Forum, in his address, said that the use of the Indian Rupee in the Sri Lankan economy should increase, to which he replied that we have no problem if the Indian Rupee becomes a common currency. We must find out how this can be done. We should be more open to the outside world.

 

Wickremesinghe praised PM Modi

President Ranil Wickremesinghe said the world is changing and India is developing rapidly, especially under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is known that Wickremesinghe is trying to get the country out of the economic crisis and he said that the economy is slowly coming back on track. The event was held on 13 July, in which Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay, who was present, said that the Government of India and the Indian business community helped Sri Lanka overcome the economic crisis of the previous year.
