The Indian team started the training session in Bridgetown, Barbados on the previous day. During this, the star batsman got injured on his hand while batting in the nets, after which the physio arrived and gave him first aid. After this, the star player batted once again.

The top two teams of each group have reached the Super-8. These include India, Australia, South Africa, the West Indies, Afghanistan, USA, England and Bangladesh.
