The Government of India will provide free food grains under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana for May and June 2021. According to the news agency ANI, five kilograms of free food grains will be made available to about 80 crore beneficiaries of the country. The government of India will spend more than 26 thousand crores on this initiative.

The government has taken this step so that these restrictions do not hit the common man. Before this announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday discussed with the Chief Ministers of the 10 states most affected by the Corona crisis and reviewed the current situation. PM Modi has held this meeting at a time when the epidemic is getting increasingly frightening.
