Eight MPs who were suspended from the Rajya Sabha after a boast over farmer bills have ended their sit-in. Also, on the issue of suspension of agricultural bills and MPs, Congress has decided to boycott the remaining monsoon session of Parliament. The Congress walked out of the Rajya Sabha over the suspension of eight MPs of the opposition and demonstrated in front of Gandhi's statue. Apart from Congress, all opposition parties including Samajwadi Party, NCP, DMK, Trinamool Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, RJD etc. have announced boycott of the remaining session of Parliament.

In fact, on Tuesday, on the ninth day of the monsoon session in the Rajya Sabha, several opposition parties led by the Congress boycotted the proceedings demanding the suspension of the eight members. First, the Congress boycotted the proceedings. Subsequently, AAP, Trinamool Congress, and members of the Left parties also boycotted the proceedings. Later, members of NCP, SP, and RJD also walked out of the House.

Speaker M Venkaiah Naidu appealed to members of opposition parties to reconsider their decision to boycott the proceedings of the House and participate in the discussion. Naidu said in the House, "I appeal to all the members to reconsider their decision to boycott and participate in the discussion."

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said that the government was not insistent on keeping suspended MPs out of the House. He said that if those members regret it, the government will look into it. Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda said that the government and the opposition should sit together and decide to run the proceedings of the House.

Earlier, Leader of the Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the opposition will boycott the proceedings of the House till the suspension of the eight members is canceled. After the zero hour, Azad also demanded that the government should bring a bill that would ensure that private companies do not buy farmers' grains at prices below the minimum support price (MSP) set by the government.

Azad said that there seems to be a lack of coordination within the government. A day before, the entire discussion on agricultural bills was focused on the MSP and a day after that the government announced the MSP for several crops. On Sunday, eight members of the Opposition, including Trinamool Congress' Derek O'Brien and AAP's Sanjay Singh, were suspended for the remainder of the monsoon session on Monday for indecent conduct in the House.
