He has taken training from NIS Patiala. Weightlifter Jeremy did not give up despite being injured during the bout and achieved golden success.

Jeremy's coach U Joita told in a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar that at the age of 9, he saw Jeremy Lalrinnunga for the first time. Joita was deeply impressed by him. They felt that there was something special in this boy and he could do something big in the coming times. After this, the coach came to Pune with Jeremy. In the initial phase, Jeremy trained with the coach at his home. The coach told that Jeremy was very agile from childhood. Apart from this, his body was also very flexible.

Father took responsibility of the family by picking up a broom

Coach U Joita says that Jeremy used to show speed even in the smallest things. In any case, he used to act with consciousness rather than enthusiasm. Jeremy was not only an expert in physical workouts but also in doing mental workouts. Jeremy used to practice with bamboo bales as a child. He is the third among 5 brothers. The four brothers always fully supported Jeremy in the game. Jeremy's father Lalrinnunga has won medals in boxing at the state and national levels. As the situation did not improve, Lalrinnunga had to take up the job of sweeper in the road construction of PWD.

Jeremy's parents do not know how to speak Hindi or English. In today's match, Jeremy lifted 140 kg in snatch and 160 kg in clean and jerk. In this way, he lifted a total of 300 KG weight and won the gold medal. Waivapa Alone (293 KG) of Samoa won the silver.

Great performance by Jeremy in the first and second attempts of the snatch

Jeremy lifted a weight of 136 kg in his first attempt of the snatch and came to the gold medal position. In the second attempt, he strengthened his position by lifting 140 kg weight and making a Games record. Jeremy made the third attempt at 143 kg weight, but he did not succeed in it.

Despite the injury, he entered the clean and jerk event

The Indian weightlifter lifted 154 kg in his first attempt of clean and jerk and 160 kg in his second attempt. In the third attempt, he tried a weight of 164 KG but did not succeed. Despite this, however, he won the gold. Jeremy was injured during his first attempt at clean and jerk. Despite this, he came to lift twice more.

Jeremy Lalrinnunga is the gold medalist of the 2018 Youth Olympics. Along with this, he also won gold in the 2021 Commonwealth Championship. Jeremy's coach's name is Vijay Sharma. Jeremy started weightlifting in the year 2011 at the age of 9. Jeremy's father is a PWD employee. Jeremy has a total of 5 siblings. In the year 2012, Jeremy was selected to the Army Sports Institute. He joined the National Camp in the year 2016.

Jeremy has been lifting more weight in men's matches than in practice

Jeremy's mother is a housewife. The coach told Dainik Bhaskar that Jeremy Lalrinnunga need not worry too much about the injury suffered during the Commonwealth Games, 2022 during the match. From the beginning of his career, Jeremy's muscles get strained while lifting weights. Although today the stretch was more visible, with massage and exercise, he will recover soon.

The anecdote is that from the very beginning, Jeremy has been lifting more weight in the main event than the weight lifted in the practice session. Jeremy wants to ensure a medal for the country by lifting as much weight as possible.
