And the death toll from the earthquake that devastated parts of Syria passed 41,000 on Friday. Following this, the United Nations has appealed for $1 billion to address the growing humanitarian crisis.

Rescue workers are continuously working to save people during the earthquake in Turkey. Rescuers also pulled out a 17-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman from the debris.

Coal miner Ali Akdogan said during rescue operations for Alina Olmez in Kahramanmaras, a town near the epicenter, that the woman seemed to be in good health. He opened and closed his eyes. But the chances of survival are very low.

Many people in the affected areas are facing serious emergencies as they live in freezing conditions without food, water, and toilets, increasing the risk of further disaster from diseases.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for funds to help the victims, saying in a statement: "The needs are great and people are suffering."

He said the contribution would provide humanitarian relief to 5.2 million people for three months.

He said the money would "allow aid organizations to rapidly scale up critical support", including in the areas of food security, security, education, water, and shelter.

Officials and doctors said that 38,044 people in Turkey and 3,688 in Syria were killed by the February 6 earthquake, bringing the total number of dead to 41,732.

Medical assistance is provided by India

According to the news agency ANI, India has sent 841 cartons of medicines, safety equipment, and diagnostics to Turkey and Syria under this operation. The medicines being sent from India include Paracetamol 100 ML IV, Ceftriaxone GM INJ, Propofol INJ, etc. At the same time, safety equipment such as gowns, gloves, shoe covers, and caps have also been included.
