UGC: Celebrating India's democratic traditions, the University Grants Commission in collaboration with the Indian Council of Historical Research organized special lectures from 15 November to 30 November 2022 in 45 Central Universities and 45 Deemed planned to do. UGC President M Jagadesh Kumar gave this information on Tuesday.
Lectures will be organized in higher education institutions across the country
Talking to the news agency ANI, Prof. Jagdish Kumar said that higher education institutions across the country have also been asked to arrange lectures on the occasion of Constitutional Day on 26 November 2022. The UGC Chairperson further said, "India: Mother of Democracy" besides the main theme, 15 sub-themes have also been identified. All the higher education institutions of the country have been asked to make arrangements for its event. Series of lectures UGC and the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) is planning to arrange in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) on “India: Mother of Democracy”, to encourage the younger generation to make India’s democracy more modern and empowered. It will help to understand the values and consequences of democracy.
Letter to the Governors of all the states
Pro. M Jagadesh Kumar has written to the Governors of all the states requesting them to encourage all the universities of their respective states to organize lectures on the given topic. “India is a diverse nation with different religions, languages, cultures, etc. But there is a common denominator that unites all Indians with democratic values. Indian democracy in its 75th year is marching ahead on the strength of inclusion and diversity. Not only the largest democracy in the world but also the mother of democracy.
M Jagadesh Kumar, in a letter to the state governors, further requested that based on a concept note on "India: Mother of Democracy" prepared by ICHR, all universities in the states may be encouraged to organize. 26 November, Lecture on the given topic of 2022 and Celebrate Indian Democracy.
