UK's Travel Advisory: The UK government on Wednesday added India-made Oxford/AstraZeneca's anti-Covid-19 vaccine Covishield to its international travel advisory, but there is confusion over the UK government's vaccine accreditation process for Indian travelers. India is still not included in the list of 17 countries whose traveler vaccinations will be recognized in the UK.
Britain's Health and Social Care (DHAC) said on Wednesday that it could not confirm this and needed clarification. "Four vaccines namely AstraZeneca Coveshield, AstraZeneca Vaxjeveria, and Moderna Takeda are listed as approved vaccines," the advisory said. It says, 'You must take both doses of the vaccine 14 days before your arrival in the UK.'
Britain has reviewed international travel rules, which will come into effect from October 4. A list of approved COVID-19 vaccines has been issued under these rules, which did not include the vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of India. This decision of Britain has been widely criticized.
According to Britain's new travel rule, vaccination of people taking both doses of the Covishield vaccine, made by the Serum Institute of India, was not recognized and they were told to stay in isolation for 10 days upon arrival in the UK.
The new decision by the British government means that people who have taken both doses of the Covishield vaccine will not need to stay in isolation for 10 days. At the same time, he will not even have to tell where he will live in Britain.
Three different lists of red, amber, and green have been made at present about travel to Britain. According to the Covid-19 threat, different countries have been kept on different lists. From October 4, all the lists will be merged and only the red list will remain. Travelers from countries included in the Red List will face restrictions on travel to the UK. India is still on the amber list. Travelers from the countries included in this list may have to go through some restrictions when traveling to the UK.
