Investor sentiment strengthened after Vedanta Aluminium posted an impressive quarterly performance, supported by favorable London Metal Exchange (LME) aluminium prices, higher production volumes, and continued cost discipline.

The strong earnings prompted several leading brokerage firms—including Citi, Investec, Nuvama Institutional Equities, Motilal Oswal Financial Services (MOFSL), and Emkay Global—to reiterate positive views on the stock.

Brokerages See Upside Beyond ₹500

Following the Q1 earnings, analysts projected significant upside for Vedanta Aluminium shares.

Investec: Buy | Target Price: ₹585

Emkay Global: Buy | Target Price: ₹550

Nuvama Institutional Equities: Buy | Target Price: ₹540

MOFSL: Buy | Target Price: ₹540

Citi: Buy | Target Price: ₹525

The consensus among brokerages is that Vedanta Aluminium remains well-positioned for sustained earnings growth over the medium term.

Emkay Global Highlights Record EBITDA

According to Emkay Global, Vedanta Aluminium delivered a record EBITDA of around ₹10,500 crore during the June quarter, broadly matching expectations.

The brokerage attributed the strong performance to:

Higher aluminium prices

Improved operating efficiencies

Continued cost control

Stable production performance

Management also reiterated its FY27 cost guidance of US$1,650–1,700 per tonne, reinforcing confidence in future profitability.

Cost Reduction Could Boost Margins Further

Nuvama believes the commencement of captive bauxite and coal mines during the second half of FY27 could significantly reduce production costs.

The brokerage expects the company's cost of production (CoP) for hot metal to decline below US$1,600 per tonne by FY28, strengthening operating margins and earnings.

Strong Domestic Demand Supports Long-Term Growth

Brokerages remain optimistic about India's aluminium industry, expecting domestic demand to expand at 8–9% annually and reach 8–8.5 million tonnes by FY30.

MOFSL believes Vedanta Aluminium will benefit from:

Ongoing backward integration

Higher contribution from value-added products

Rising domestic aluminium consumption

Strong cash flow generation potential

Vedanta Aluminium Outlook

With robust quarterly earnings, improving operational efficiency, expanding domestic demand, and multiple brokerage upgrades, Vedanta Aluminium has emerged as one of the key metal stocks to watch. Analysts believe the combination of lower production costs and strong industry fundamentals could support further upside in the stock over the coming quarters.
