A video of a Dalit girl being beaten up in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi district is becoming increasingly viral on the Internet media. Congress General Secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has targeted the government regarding this incident. Condemning the incident of ruthless thrashing of the girl, he alleged that on average 34 incidents of crime are being committed against Dalits every day, yet your law and order is sleeping. He warned that Congress would protest vigorously if the accused were not caught within 24 hours. However, the police, which became active after this tweet of Priyanka, has arrested an accused.

A Dalit girl was brutally thrashed three days ago in Raipur Phulwari locality of Amethi city. After the video of this incident went viral, the police registered a case after taking a complaint from the girl's family members. The victim's father alleges that his daughter had gone to Amethi from a relative fifteen days ago. Being retarded, she lost her way and accidentally went to someone else's house. They had beaten him mercilessly by locking him in his house and calling him a thief.

When the victim's father investigated, it was found that it was the house of Shivkumar Soni. His son Suraj Soni, Rahul Soni, and his partner Shubham alias Sakal misbehaved by locking them in the room. According to the Amethi police, a case has been registered on the complaint of the father. A team has been formed to arrest the accused. Rahul Soni was arrested late Tuesday night from Railway Station Road and sent to jail. Search is on for others.

After the video of the Dalit, girl beating went viral, Congress General Secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted the video of the incident, tagging CM Yogi and wrote that 'This incident of brutally beating a Dalit girl in Amethi is condemnable. Yogi Ji, on average, 34 crimes against Dalits and 135 against women are taking place every day under your rule, yet your law and order are sleeping. If the criminals who committed this inhuman act are not caught within 24 hours, then the Congress party will work to wake you up by vigorous agitation.
