Visakhapatnam. The Ministry of Home Affairs has once again clarified the news of gas leaking in the LG Polymer Industry of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The ministry has said that the situation is under control. This was a minor technical leak. This was a minor technical leak and is under control. Andhra Pradesh Police has ordered evacuation of the area within 2 km radius of the gas leak area as a precautionary measure in Visakhapatnam. At the same time people have also been requested not to believe in fake news about the gas leak.

 

Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner RK Meena has said that there is nothing to panic. He said that as a precaution, people coming within 2 km radius of the site are requested to vacate the area. People outside the radius of 2 km do not have to come on the road or evacuate the area. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Thursday took suo motu cognizance of the Visakhapatnam gas leak incident and decided to hear the matter today, news agency ANI said. A bench headed by NGT chairman AK Goyal is scheduled to hear the case.

 

11 people died

This chemical is made in Vapi in Valsad district of South Gujarat and is used to neutralize the effects of gas leakage and prevent it from decaying. Earlier on Thursday following the gas leak incident, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy requested Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani to send it to control the chemical's effects.
