Indore. A 21-day lockdown continues across the country to prevent infection with coronaviruses. Despite this, there are cases of negligence in most areas of the country. As a result, infection cases are steadily increasing. The number of infected in Indore is now 24. However, the central government, along with the states, is constantly trying to curb this. But every effort is proving insufficient. Suddenly the threat of community transmission is looming. Perhaps, this is the reason why Indore, which is called the economic capital of Madhya Pradesh, will have the strictest lockdown of the country till April 1. However, the administration gave some relief, saying that milk will be available from the shops from 6 to 9 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm. At the same time, the ferries will also be able to go home and supply.
Things of Indore after strictness
Lockdown and Bharatband written on intersections
In Indore, the municipal sanitation workers wrote around the city limits and at intersections - Lockdown and Bharat Bandh. The city has closed 24-hour petrol pumps. Only 7 petrol pumps are open, giving diesel, petrol to emergency services - ambulances, tankers, government vehicles. Police have blocked every intersection after 7 am. Every visitor is being advised. The police said that they will explain for a while, if they do not believe then they will file a case.
Crowd outside milk dairies from 5 am, people returned disappointed
People started arriving outside the city's dairy from 5 am on Monday morning. Even today, there were no trains coming to distribute milk at the intersections. People did not know that the milk supply is stopped from today. They said that if milk is not available then what will happen to the young children in the house. They will remain hungry. The administration is taking good security measures, but take care of the facilities as well.
Security guards walk 10-15 km to come to work
Many guards working in the city were seen walking. Their house is 10-15 km away from the workplace. People working in Mall, Hotel of Indore told that our colleagues did not get money due to the sudden lockdown. Their financial condition is very bad.
The contractor did not pay the laborers of Bundelkhand, returning home hungry and thirsty
150 laborers working in Indore were seen on the Bhopal-Indore highway (Abroad). These people left for their homes. Among them were residents of Chhatarpur, Panna, Damoh, Sagar. All wages are paid. There are security guards. Some people came from Pithampur, who left the house at 12 noon yesterday. The workers said that we stayed here for 4-5 days. Thought that if everything becomes normal then work will be found. The contractor did not receive any wages. Those who were in pocket were also spent.
Came home from Jodhpur in 9 days, the police fed and sat in the car
Bahadur, who works in a tea-spice factory in Jodhpur, arrived in Indore today after a 9-day journey. Bahadur said that after reports of people dying from Koreana, work at the factory was stopped. The contractor raised curfew in the city. The contractor asked all the workers to make their own arrangements and go home. He had to get Rs 10,000 from the contractor, but could not meet him due to curfew. Like me, about 150 people left for different places without money. According to Bahadur, the Rajasthan Police fed him and sat in a car from there, he came to the MP border. 200 km on foot from there reached Indore. People are walking on the streets in the hope of meeting a truck. The children, the elderly, all bother to go home.
After all, why this most stringent lockdown?
Five days have passed since the lockdown was implemented across the country. But even during this time, the administration has given complete exemption for essential things including milk and vegetables there. Services like petrol pumps, ATMs have continued. The same amount of time is being given to people for exiting and shopping. But Indore, called Mini Mumbai, will be completely closed for the next three days.
Why was there a need to take this step?
In fact, even after the lockdown, a large number of people were coming from outside in Indore. Many social organizations were distributing food and other supplies. As a result, the social distancing rule was not being followed even after the lockdown was implemented. As a result, the number of infected in Indore increased suddenly in the last two days. Indore is under threat of community transmission. The administration has identified areas such as Chandan Nagar, Ranipura. There is a ban on movement.
