Travis head released from Australia Squad for 2nd ODI: Australia's opening batsman Travis Head has been released from the ODI and T20 series against West Indies. Head has been released from the series of two ODIs and three T20 matches.

 

Cricket Australia announced

Cricket Australia gave this information through a press release on Saturday. This news has now come to light amidst continuous discussions regarding the form of Tevi Head. Recently, Head returned to the pavilion after becoming a golden duck in both the innings of the second test match against the Caribbean team. In the first ODI, Head was out after scoring 4 runs.

 

 

Post-World Cup performance

Head scored a century in his first Test match against West Indies since the ODI World Cup 2023 final. Head has played 9 matches since the World Cup final and has failed to make an impact on the Australian management. Now going on a head break before the series against New Zealand.

 

Replacement not announced

Head will miss the final two ODIs and the following three T20Is and will return to his home in Adelaide for the break ahead of Australia's tour of New Zealand. However, Australia has not yet announced Head's replacement for the white ball series against West Indies. Meanwhile, young player Jake Fraser-McGurk can debut.

 

Dizzlewood got the place

Apart from this, Australia has made two more changes in its team. Josh Hazlewood has been included in the team for the second ODI against West Indies to be played in Sydney. Pacer Xavier Bartlett has been rested from the second match after a brilliant debut. Cricket Australia said in a statement that this decision has been taken to manage the work of the fast bowler.
