Barra kidnapping scandal

Lab technician Sanjeet Yadav, a resident of Barra in Kanpur city, was kidnapped on the night of 22 June, while coming home from the hospital. The role of the Kanpur police, in this case, has been under question since the beginning. Nearly a month after being all-around gritty, the police revealed the Barra kidnapping case. Sanjit's kidnapper was not a professional criminal but his friend. The police have arrested five accused in this case, all are friends of Sanjeet. The mastermind of this kidnapping was Gyanendra Yadav. In the police interrogation, the accused confessed that on June 26, Sanjit was killed and his body was dumped in the Pandu River. After killing Sanjit, on June 29, the kidnapper called Sanjit's family for a ransom of 30 lakh. However, the most shocking disclosure by the kidnappers was that they did not carry the ransom bag at all. In such a situation, fingers are being raised on the functioning of Kanpur Police once again. It is alleged that the police had asked to give the ransom amount to the kidnappers, but even after paying the ransom money, Sanjeet did not return home.

The accused also told in interrogation that Sanjit was kidnapped due to the greed of money, because he used to say that he had a lot of money. The accused have refused to get the ransom money. In such a situation, the question arises that where did the ransom bag go?

Biker scandal

The UP Police has also been very bad about the Bikeru scandal in Kanpur. On the night of July 2-3, eight policemen were killed in Bikaru village. The police team raided the village to catch gangster Vikas Dubey, but Vikas Dubey escaped after shedding the blood of policemen. Even the UP police kept looking for him here and there and dodging the police and reached the Mahakal temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. On the morning of 10 July, when the UP STF team was bringing him from Ujjain to Kanpur, then he died during the encounter. Vikas Dubey's encounter is also under question.

In such a situation, within two months, these two big incidents in Kanpur gave the opposition parties a chance to surround the UP government. Amidst these two incidents, the murder of the army jawan's father in Amethi with a sharp weapon and the murder of journalist Vikram Joshi in Ghaziabad acted like adding fuel to the fire. Opposition parties are taking a dig at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's statement in which he had said that the culprits should either leave UP or give up crime.
