He said that 878 members of 243 disaster-affected families were in relief camps. They are being provided with facilities for food, drink, and medicines. A relief amount of 515.80 lahks has been given to these families. That money has been given for relief, rehabilitation, and meeting basic needs.
Earlier on January 28, the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) had put the number of cracked buildings at 863.

After this, cracks kept increasing in the houses of Joshimath, and when the situation worsened, the state and central government took note of it.

January 9: A team from the Center arrived in the evening to take stock of the damage caused to buildings in Joshimath. The team investigated and submitted the report to the state government. 478 houses and 2 hotels were declared as danger zones. At the same time, the Uttarakhand government decided to divide Joshimath into three zones. Till January 9, 81 families were displaced.
January 10: The demolition of two hotels in Joshimath was stopped after protests by the local people. The hotel owners said that no notice has been given to us. Along with this, he also raised the demand for compensation. The Supreme Court refused to hold an urgent hearing on the matter.
