Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that India is rapidly moving towards "integration" of the three services of the armed forces. The Union Defense Minister said this while addressing a seminar on the Logistics of the Indian Army in New Delhi. He also said that India has made rapid progress in the rail sector and more than 9,000 km of lines have been doubled in the last seven years. He said in the five years before 2014, this figure was only 1,900 km.

Singh said that we are rapidly moving towards the 'integration' of the three services. Also said that our effort is to have common logistic nodes so that the resources of one service can be made available seamlessly to other services.

In the program organized at Manekshaw Center in Delhi Cantonment, he said that logistics is one of the sectors which have benefited the most from this 'integration'.

Our country has become the 5th largest economy in the world: Rajnath Singh

Rajnath Singh said that in the last few decades the world is connected like never before. Logistics and supply chain has a big role in this too. We can sit in one part of the world and get information about another part and also order any goods. A strong, secure, and quick logistics supply system is an important requirement to take the economy of a country to greater heights. Today our country has become the 5th largest economy in the world.

The government has prepared important policies

He said that India is moving fast towards becoming a $5 trillion economy. In such a situation, the government has prepared many important policies to integrate logistics in the country and make it self-reliant.

Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary and Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar, and NITI Aayog member VK Saraswat among others also attended the inaugural ceremony of the seminar.
