According to the Meteorological Department, after 9 years, on May 26, the mercury crossed 45 degrees Celsius. Not only this, this is the highest maximum temperature of this season so far. Earlier in 2015, the maximum temperature recorded on this day was 45.5 degrees Celsius.


 

Red heat alert in Delhi

In Delhi's urban centers, the mercury crossed 48 degrees Celsius in Mungeshpur and Najafgarh areas. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heat waves from Monday to Wednesday. In such a situation, the maximum temperature is expected to be 46 degrees Celsius. This will cause scorching heat. However, there is a possibility of rain on May 31. This will reduce the temperature and people can get minor relief from the heat.


 

The effect of heat is visible in the markets

The heat of summer is increasing every day. People are troubled by the scorching heat. The scorching heat has been seen since Sunday morning. To avoid the heat, people remained confined to their homes since morning. Due to this, the local areas as well as the main roads looked deserted. The number of people in tourist places and markets also remained very low. Even before noon, people started sweating due to the heat. Those who were outside were seen looking for shade.


 

Delhi's temperature will rise

The hot wind blew since morning, which made people feel heatstroke. Severe heat wave conditions occurred in most areas. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Delhi's maximum temperature was recorded at 45.4 degrees Celsius. This is five degrees more than normal. At the same time, the minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the maximum humidity level was 62 percent.


 

The Meteorological Department issued a warning

Meteorologists estimate that at present there is no hope of getting relief from the heat. Due to the increase in temperature, the heat will increase further in the coming days. In such a situation, heat can cause a lot of problems for people. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heat waves for Monday.


 

In such a situation, the sky will remain clear due to which the temperature is likely to cross 46 degrees Celsius. While the minimum temperature is also likely to go up to 28 degrees Celsius. Severe heat wave conditions are expected in most areas, while heat wave conditions will prevail in some areas. At the same time, during the afternoon, strong surface hot wind will blow at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry in the coming four days, due to which the maximum temperature may increase by two to three degrees Celsius.


 

The mercury reached this much in these areas of Delhi

According to the Meteorological Department, Mungeshpur area was the hottest. The maximum recorded here was 48.3 degrees Celsius. Whereas in the Najafgarh area, it was 48.1 degree Celsius. At the same time, the maximum temperature recorded was 47.8 degrees Celsius in Narela, 46.8 in Pusa, 46.3 in Aya Nagar, 46.1 in Palam, and 45.5 degrees Celsius in Ridge.

Due to the increase in wind speed, the climate is in the moderate category. The air quality index (AQI) on Sunday was 190, which is in the moderate category. AQI was recorded beyond 200 in most areas. Delhi's air overall remained in the moderate category. According to the Meteorological Department, the wind may reach the poor category on Tuesday. According to CPCB, Greater Noida recorded the highest air quality index in NCR. The AQI here was 247, which is a poor category. AQI was recorded at 227 in Noida, 210 in Faridabad, 144 in Gurugram, and 166 in Ghaziabad.
