The investigating agency interrogated him for about 9 hours at the office located in Prayagraj's Civil Lines. On October 11, the ED issued a lookout notice against Abbas in the money laundering case.
Information gathered about Benami properties
Mafia Mukhtar Ansari's MLA son Abbas Ansari was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in his office for about nine hours on Friday. Information was collected from him about the Benami properties of Mafia Mukhtar. The ED had already issued a lookout notice to him on the apprehension of leaving the country. During interrogation, he kept answering all the questions of ED in a roundabout manner. He was arrested by the ED at around 12 pm late in the night.
ED office reached around 2 pm
MLA Abbas Ansari reached the ED's office at around 2 pm on Friday in a very secretive manner. He was issued a notice by the ED for questioning in the money laundering case registered against Mafia Mukhtar Ansari, lodged in Banda Jail. As soon as Abbas Ansari reached here, the police of Civil Lines police station were stationed at the main gate of ED. Anyone's movement was banned. ED officials inside started questioning Abbas Ansari.
Answered questions in a roundabout way
According to sources, he was asked where did mafia Mukhtar Ansari acquire so many Benami properties. Where are the land and houses? How close are you to the mafia? How much property do these close friends have? All such questions were asked of him, but he kept answering all the questions in a roundabout way. He was interrogated for about nine hours. After that, he was arrested.
A lookout notice was issued
ED had issued a lookout notice against Mau MLA Abbas Ansari. This meant that he would not leave the country. The ED feared that Abbas Ansari might flee the country, so a lookout notice was issued to him.
