Haryana civic election results: BJP's defeat in Anil Vij's area, independents in Ambala and Congress candidates in Sonipat

The results of the civic elections in Haryana have started coming. The counting of votes had started at eight o'clock on Wednesday morning. Elections have been held for the Municipal Corporation of Sonipat, Panchkula and Ambala, Rewari Municipal Council, Sampla, Dharuhera, and Uklana. Haryana Municipal Election Results updates:

 

- Dharuhera municipal election - Independent candidate Kanwar Singh victorious for the post of chairman.

 

- Uklana municipal election - Independent candidate Sushil Sahu has been the winner, while BJP-JJP candidate Mahendra Soni has lost the election.

 

- Sampla Municipal Election - Independent candidate Pooja defeated Sonu, BJP candidate for the post of chairman. Independent candidates are Congress party workers, but Congress did not contest the symbol here.

 

- In the three municipal elections of Haryana, the BJP-JJP alliance has suffered a major setback. Independent candidates have won in all three places. Independent candidates have been declared winners in Ukalana of Hisar, Sampla of Rohtak, and Dharuhera in Rewari.

 

- BJP has been defeated in Haryana cabinet minister Anil Vij's area. Shakti Rani Sharma, candidate of Jan Chetna Party for the post of Mayor in Ambala Municipal Corporation, won.

 

In the Sonepat Municipal Corporation election, the post of Mayor has gone to the Congress account. Congress candidate Nikhil Madan defeated BJP candidate Lalit Batra by 13,818 votes.

 

Independents have also won in Rewari. The results of 9 wards in Rewari have been declared so far. Of these, independents won 6, Congress supported 1 and BJP won 2.

 

- HLP-backed candidate Nisha Bajaj has won in Sirsa Ward by-election. The BJP-JJP alliance has suffered a setback. His candidate finished third.

 

According to media reports, Independent candidate Sushil Sahu has won the post of Ukala Municipality President. He defeated his nearest rival Jajpa's Mahendra by around 419 votes. The BJP is also trailing in the post of Mayor in Ambala. Congress is leading in Sonepat.

 

In Sampla, Independent candidate Pooja has defeated Sonu Devi of BJP.

 

- Counting of votes for the results of the Haryana Municipal Corporation election continues.

 

Voting for the Haryana civic elections was held on December 27.

 

Where is the percentage of voting

In Ambala, 56.3 percent, Sonipat 57.7 percent, 55.5 percent in Panchkula, 69.2 percent in Rewari Municipal Council, 81.5 percent in Sampla Municipality, 73.8 percent in Dharuhera, and 79.2 percent in Uklana.

 

In fact, amidst all the precautionary measures and tight security in the wake of the Coronavirus epidemic, there was about 60 percent turnout in the municipal elections in Haryana on Sunday. By-elections were also held forward number seven of Municipal Committee, Indri (Karnal), 13 of Bhuna (Fatehabad), 12 of Rajaund (Kaithal), 14 of Municipal Council Fatehabad and ward number 29 of Municipal Council Sirsa. Election officials pointed out that extensive arrangements were made for free, fair, and transparent elections. He said that adequate police force was deployed in polling stations and sensitive and susceptible areas to maintain law and order.

 

In this election, there is a direct contest between the ruling BJP-JJP alliance and the Congress. The Haryana State Election Commission allowed Covid-19 patients to cast their votes in the last hour at their respective polling stations. State Election Commissioner Dalip Singh said that all standard operating procedures issued by the Center and state authorities were followed in the wake of Covid-19.
