IB71 Movie Review: Vidyut's new film brought an anonymous lesson of patriotism, together with Sankalp Reddy's decorated Chaucer

In the year 1971, the then Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi declared war on the common people of East Pakistan (Bangladesh) to get freedom from Pakistani rule. At that time it was happening for the first time in the world that a country was fighting a war for the freedom of another country. Now taking responsibility for the war was like taking a big risk. But the officers and the army of our country did not give up. There were so many covert operations in 1971 that even if a film was made every month, there would be no dearth of stories. In this sequence, many films like 'The Ghazi Attack', 'Raazi' and '1971' have come so far. Now in this episode, a new film 'IB 71' is based on the intelligence mission of the Intelligence Officer.

story of the 1971 war

The film 'IB71' is based on a historical operation carried out by the spies of the Intelligence Bureau. The story of the film is based on a plan made to close Indian airspace to stop Pakistani fighter jets. The entire responsibility of the mission rests on the shoulders of Intelligence Bureau agent Dev Jammwal (Vidyut Jammwal). Together with 30 people, Dev executes this mission and is also successful in dodging the whole of Pakistan. Dev Jamwal takes the help of a Kashmiri boy for this mission. This boy named Kasim Qureshi (Vishal Jethwa) dreams of Azad Kashmir.

weak presentation of the true story

The film is directed by Sankalp Reddy. Sankalp is the one who gave cult films like 'Ghazi Attack'. But in this film, Sankalp has not allowed the story to progress naturally. The film shows less, tells more and this is the weakest link of the film. Before the interval, the story seems to be diving into such an ocean of emotions, the edge of which is not fixed in front of the movie watchers. The strings are not connected to the story in this affair of the viewer. The film picks up pace after the interval and the thrill on the screen is also decorated. And, during this Sankalp has tried his best to do justice to the story.

Effective acting of Vidyut Jammwal

Vidyut Jammwal, the hero of the film 'IB71', for the first time has focused more on his acting than his action. This is also necessary for his long career. If Vidyut gets the right director, he can play a good character by balancing his stature and the expressions on his face. But, here being the producer of electricity seems to be overshadowed by the direction of Sankalp. The film also stars Vishal Jethwa. His dangerous form has been seen by the audience in 'Mardaani'. But since 'Salaam Venky', Vishal doesn't seem to be trying to live up to the expectations he has given to his fans. Anupam Kher is in his usual style. In such films, the lines of his role have been fixed and he acts accordingly.

The film lost publicity

The film 'IB71' is an action thriller but director Sankalp Reddy has tied up the energy of Vidyut. Sankalp has tried to make Vidyut's Medha a hero this time by avoiding the scenes that happen inside and outside the window of the vehicle that has become his identity. The film is slightly better than average. The editing, background music, and special effects of the film are effective. Had it been promoted properly and a better date had been chosen at the box office for its release, it could have done a respectable business.
