IND vs AUS: 22 pink ball tests in nine years, 73% matches were limited to four days, all four matches of India ended in three days

Out of 22, only six tests lasted for five days, while the results of 16 test matches came in four days or less.

 

The first day-night test was played in 2015

 

The first international day-night test match was played in 2015. The teams of Australia and New Zealand were face to face at Adelaide Oval. Australia won that match by three wickets. Since then, Australia has played 12 day-night tests and won 11. They suffered their only defeat this year against West Indies. On the other hand, India has played four day-night tests so far. Out of these, they have won three, while they have lost one. The only Test in which the Indian team lost was played in Adelaide four years ago. This was the first Test of India's tour of Australia in 2020/21. Team India, captained by Virat Kohli, had to face a crushing defeat by eight wickets in this.

 

When did India play day-night Test matches?

 

India has so far played three out of four day-night Test matches on its ground and one match in Australia. India won its first Pink Ball Test played against Bangladesh in November 2019 in three days. At the same time, in the day-night Test played in December 2020 in Adelaide, Australia, India had to face defeat within three days. After this, in February 2021, India won the day-night Test against England in just two days. In 2022, the day-night Test played against Sri Lanka in Bengaluru was finished by Team India in three days.

At the same time, Australia has played 82 Tests at Adelaide Oval so far and has won 45. The Kangaroos had to face defeat in 18 Tests. 19 matches have been drawn.

 

How many centuries have been scored in day-night Tests so far

 

A total of 27 centuries have been scored in day-night Tests so far. Out of this, Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne has scored the most four. After this, Pakistan's Asad Shafiq, Sri Lanka's Dimuth Karunaratne, and Travis Head are in second place with two centuries each. 17 batsmen have scored a century each in the day-night test. Only Virat Kohli from the Indian team has been able to score a century in the pink ball test. At the same time, the first batsman to score a century in the pink ball was Azhar Ali of Pakistan. Only two triple centuries have been scored in the day-night test. One by Azhar Ali and the other by David Warner. Kohli scored 136 runs against Bangladesh in November 2019 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Kohli is in great form on the Australia tour and he played an unbeaten innings of 100 runs in Perth. Now the same will be expected from him in Adelaide.

 

Overall record in Tests between India and Australia

 

Talking about the overall record between India and Australia, a total of 108 Test matches have been played between the two. Out of this, India has won 33 and Australia has won 45 matches. 29 Tests have been drawn, while one Test was tied. At the same time, a total of 53 Tests have been played between the two teams on Australian soil. Out of this, India has won 10 matches, while Australia has won 30 matches. 13 Tests ended in a draw.
