The New Zealand cricket team has decided to return home, canceling its tour of Pakistan due to security reasons.
On one hand, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistani fans are disappointed with this decision, on the other hand, such questions have also arisen as to what will be the future of international cricket in Pakistan.
The New Zealand Cricket Board says that it has announced an end to the tour in Pakistan due to security concerns and has taken this step with the permission of its government.
On the other hand, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Rameez Raja, has made a strong comment about this.
Rameez Raja tweeted that he sympathizes with his players and fans.
He wrote, "This is also disappointing because New Zealand has made a one-sided decision to end the tour based on security threats, and most importantly they have not shared anything with us."
The last few words of Rameez Raja's tweet are very important, in which he has directly asked New Zealand, 'What world is New Zealand living in? New Zealand will hear us now in the ICC."
It is clear from these words of Rameez Raja that the Pakistan Cricket Board will take up the matter with the ICC.
England tour next month
It is too early to say that the Pakistan Cricket Board will present the matter to the ICC Committee to seek compensation for the financial loss caused by the cancellation of the tour of New Zealand, but it has been learned that the Pakistan Cricket Board will be responsible for the cancellation of the tour. Wants to organize the matches again in Pakistan.
It is also very important here that the New Zealand cricket team has to tour Pakistan again next year, in which it has to play three ODIs and two Test matches.
These One Day International matches will be part of the ICC Super League. It will be the effort of the Pakistan Cricket Board to include the matches of the canceled current tour in the New Zealand team's tour of Pakistan next year.
The New Zealand team has canceled the tour of Pakistan due to security reasons, but it is very important to know that even before the New Zealand team reached here, Rig Dixon, a well-known security company, came to Pakistan and saw all the arrangements related to security in this tour. and expressed satisfaction about them.
The same company had taken stock of the security situation not only of New Zealand but also the tour of England team coming to Pakistan next month because the same company is also the security consultant of England team.
Question mark on England team's tour of Pakistan
The England cricket team is going to come to Pakistan next month to play two T20 International matches.
Officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board had discussed the cancellation of the tour of New Zealand on Friday with the board there and they were busy in the same but there are reports that Wasim Khan, Chief Executive Officer of PCB, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). to contact the officials.
The ECB has issued a statement, in which it has said that it is in touch with its security team in Pakistan and it will decide in 24 to 48 hours whether they should have their scheduled tour or not.
'A game is being played against Pakistan?'
After the cricket fans reacted to the cancellation of the New Zealand cricket team's tour of Pakistan, it is being seen as a bigger international affair than cricket.
Former PCB chairman Khalid Mahmud, while talking to BBC Urdu, said that 'this is not only about cricket, but it is about the changes taking place in this whole field. After the departure of America from Afghanistan and the arrival of the Taliban, the anti-Pakistan forces have united.
"While Pakistan is supporting the Taliban government, cricket has also come under its control. It is also possible that anti-Pakistan forces have somehow conveyed to the New Zealand Cricket Board that their team in Pakistan may be in danger. "
Khalid Mahmood says that if the New Zealand Cricket Board or his government had security concerns, they should have told the Pakistan Cricket Board and the government of Pakistan.
"You should ask them what kind of security threats have you received."
Khalid Mahmud says that in the present situation, 'the loss is ours'. The Pakistan Cricket Board and the Government of Pakistan will have to show very swiftly at the international level that there is no security threat in Pakistan.
Khalid Mahmood suspects that 'if Pakistan does not control this situation, then the cricket matches of the Pakistani team can go to a neutral place, but the way the anti-Pakistan forces are increasing, they create obstacles even at neutral places. Even there, some excuses may start.
'It's not a conspiracy
Former PCB chairman Najam Sethi does not agree that this is a conspiracy against Pakistan or Pakistan cricket.
Talking to BBC Urdu, Najam Sethi said that this decision of the New Zealand Cricket Board can have deep implications.
"When we tried to bring international cricket back to Pakistan, there was no direct threat to cricket, but there was a general risk of terrorism in Pakistan. We told the ICC and other cricket boards that cricket was not a threat, so we decided to play cricket. will protect."
"But in the current situation, New Zealand is saying that cricket is in danger, their team is in direct danger. If there was a general threat, they would not have sent their team to Pakistan, so I understand that there is no such thing at the last minute. Because of which he took this decision."
Najam Sethi says that 'we have not been told whether New Zealand has shared information about the security threat with Pakistan or not. We have only been told that our Prime Minister had tried to convince his Prime Minister.
Najam Sethi says that the Pakistan Cricket Board should immediately contact the ICC.
"As the news is coming that the England Cricket Board is going to decide on the tour of Pakistan in the next few hours so it is important to understand if the security threats were received only by the New Zealand team and if they were not ordinary threats. So how can England decide based on them? Based on threats from New Zealand, England can also cancel their tour which should not happen."
Why does this only happen to New Zealand?
This is not the first time that the New Zealand cricket team has canceled a tour of foreign countries or left it midway.
In 1987, the New Zealand team was on a tour of Sri Lanka, but after the first Test in Colombo, they ended the tour after more than 100 people died in the bombings.
In 1992, most of the New Zealand team players refused to continue touring Sri Lanka after the bombings near the team hotel in Colombo and returned home. They included Mark Greatbatch, Gavin Larsen, Rod Latham, Willie Watson, and coach Warren Lees.
In 2001, the New Zealand team left for a tour of Pakistan and had just reached Singapore when the 9/11 incident happened and she returned home from there.
In 2002, the New Zealand team was about to leave for the stadium from its hotel to play the Karachi Test against Pakistan, when a suicide attack came to light during which the team was forced to return home after ending the tour.
