New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS) The Janata Parivar parties Thursday met here and discussed their strategy to take on the government on various issues including it taking the ordinance route on important bills.
"Many of us met here. Meetings are on to discuss issues concerning us and we will take on the government on various issues," Janata Dal-United Sharad Yadav told IANS.
Six parties of the Janata Parivar had decided in December to merge in January to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Many leaders of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, JD-U, Samajwadi Party, Janata Dal-Secular and Indian National Lok Dal are now in the capital to discuss the merger issue.
Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav was earlier authorised to work out the modalities for the merger.
