There is a tremendous increase in the cases of monkeypox around the world. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of cases related to monkeypox has crossed 70 thousand globally. With this, the WHO warned that in the coming times, the whole world may have to face difficulties due to this virus. Therefore people should not stop taking precautions even after seeing a decline in its cases.
The organization said that the countries that saw an increase in cases of monkeypox last week include some countries on the American continent. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus issued a warning, saying that although there has been a decrease in monkeypox cases globally, this could be the most dangerous time of this epidemic.
He said that while the cases of monkeypox are decreasing worldwide at this time, there are 21 countries where cases have seen an increase in the last week. Especially in countries located on the American continent. Where 90 percent of the total cases worldwide have been found.
Gebrehesus said that the time of decline in monkeypox cases can be the most dangerous because during this time we think that the crisis is over and we stop taking precautions. He said that along with increasing the testing capacity, the World Health Organization is also working to improve the surveillance system.
He expressed concern over the situation arising out of monkeypox at a refugee camp near Sudan's border with Ethiopia. According to the WHO chief, monkeypox, like the coronavirus, is still a matter of concern and the organization is constantly warning the whole world to deal with it.
