NEET paper leak: CBI collecting evidence in three states; Jharkhand principal in custody, accused Chintu-Mukesh in custody for three days

In the NEET paper leak case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified action in Jharkhand, Gujarat, and Bihar. The agency's team took the principal of a school in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand into custody. In Bihar, two accused Chintu and Mukesh were sent on three-day remand by a special CBI court in Patna. A team collected evidence from two private schools in Kheda and Panchmahal in Gujarat. So far 18 people have been arrested. After the hearing, Harshvardhan Singh, judge of the CBI court in Patna, sent Chintu and Mukesh on a three-day remand for questioning.

 

The team detained Dr. Ahsanul Haque, principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh, after questioning him for several hours. Haque was the district coordinator of NEET-UG in Hazaribagh. Some members of the 12-member CBI team have also taken information from the manager of the main branch of the State Bank of India. On the other hand, the CBI searched the rooms of two schools in Gujarat's Kheda district Jai Jalaram International School and Godhra in Panchmahal district, where the exam was held.

In another action apart from the CBI investigation in the NEET paper leak case, Kolkata Police arrested a person associated with an educational institution for promising to get a place in the merit list of NEET exam for Rs 12 lakh. The accused had demanded Rs 12 lakh from the student's father. The student's father had also paid Rs five lakh.

 

A senior police officer said on Wednesday that the accused had also assured the student of getting a seat in a medical college in Kolkata. He said, based on the complaint lodged at Shakespeare Sarani police station, the accused was arrested on Tuesday night.
