OBC Reservation: CM Yogi said - Body elections will be held only after reservation, and will go to Supreme Court if needed

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has stated the decision of the Allahabad High Court's Lucknow bench to abolish OBC reservation in civic elections. He said that the government will go to the Supreme Court to get the rights of the backward. At the same time, the SP has accused the BJP of weak lobbying in the court.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a statement saying that the state government will set up a commission for urban body elections and provide reservation facilities to citizens belonging to other backward classes based on the triple test. Only after this, the body elections will be conducted. If necessary, the state government will also appeal to the Supreme Court after considering all the legal aspects regarding the decision of the High Court.

SP President Akhilesh Yadav has attacked the BJP government by tweeting on the matter. He tweeted that today the anti-reservation BJP is showing sympathy on the issue of OBC reservation in the body elections. Today the BJP has taken away the right of reservation for the backward. Tomorrow BJP will also take away the reservation given by Babasaheb to Dalits. He has appealed to backward and Dalits to support SP in the fight to save the reservation. Akhilesh Yadav has said that he will go to the Supreme Court to save the reservation. Mayawati also targeted the government and said that this decision shows the anti-reservation mentality of the BJP.

Mayawati said the decision showed BJP's anti-reservation mentality

Mayawati has stated that the decision of the Hon'ble High Court to take cognizance of the government's performance in the much-awaited civic elections in UP regarding reservation given to OBCs as a constitutional right, is in true sense the anti-OBC and anti-reservation thinking of the BJP and its government. And it shows the mindset.

He said that the UP government had to follow the instructions of the Supreme Court with full devotion and honesty and finalize the process of elections by determining the system of OBC reservation through the triple test, which was not done properly. OBC society will punish BJP for this mistake.

First, there should be reservations for the backward and then there should be elections.

Earlier, the SP issued a statement saying that the BJP government had betrayed the backward people. This is BJP's conspiracy to destroy the constitution given by Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. To kill the rights of backward and Dalits in civic elections, the BJP government wrongly made a reservation. First, there should be reservations for the backward, then there should be elections.

The unfortunate decision to end the reservation

SP leader Ramgopal Yadav has accused the government of not lobbying properly in the court. He tweeted that the decision to end reservations for OBCs in civic elections is unfortunate. This is a conspiracy of the Uttar Pradesh government. The facts were deliberately not presented before the court. He said that by doing this, the government deprived 60 percent of the population of UP of reservations. BJP's OBC ministers are tongue-tied on this decision. He said that the condition of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya is like a bonded labourer.

UP minister said - Without reservation body election is not right

Apna Dal (S) working president and cabinet minister Ashish Patel said that civic body elections without OBC reservation are not fair from any point of view. We are studying the judgment given by the Lucknow High Court in this context. If needed, Apna Dal (S) will approach the Supreme Court for the rights of OBCs.
